Working in Mason: Boost Business Outcomes Through Employee Commutes Forum January 27th

January 24, 2014
Mason is happening! And, part of our city’s success is its convenient location within the region and the state. The area’s major highways connect Mason’s cozy corridors and business campuses to the Capitol, MSU, LCC, and other major employers. In recent years, ways to get to and from Mason became even broader with the addition of the CATA Route 46 bus service, which runs Monday through Friday during morning and evening business commute times. Now, a collaborative effort has begun to consider more frequent service along Route 46. Your input is needed to contribute to our community’s transportation future.
On January 27, a series of four different forums begins, with the first forum focused on Mason’s business community. Join us at City Hall at 5:30 p.m. to be a part of this important conversation. Mason employers will find out how bus service benefits their businesses through employee commutes, customer access, and more.
About this effort: Michigan Environmental Council (MEC), with participation from CATA, the City of Mason, the Mason Area Chamber of Commerce, The Mid-Michigan Program for Greater Sustainability, and other partners has organized this effort to help boost Mason’s environmental, social, and economic health. Forums and a survey will allow us to hear from Mason residents, officials, and the business community on how bus service helps us get around and the benefits additional bus service could bring.
About MEC: The Michigan Environmental Council, with our main office located in Lansing, is a coalition of 70 environmental, conservation and faith-based organizations located across Michigan, many in the Capital area. These organizations place a high priority on transportation issues, and particularly public transportation issues, as key to Michigan’s economic success and environmental prosperity. MEC has a history of spearheading public forums in an effort to facilitate citizen engagement in public processes. Learn more at: www.environmentalcouncil.org.
