The district is roughly framed by the City of Mason in the north west, City of Leslie in the south west, and Dansville in the center east. The townships of Bunker Hill, Ingham, Leslie, and Vevay are largely rural; include the 5,000 acre Dansville State Game Area, and; support production agriculture as well as private residences.  Mason is the county seat of Ingham County and the largest community in the district.  The Board of Commissioners meets in the historic courthouse in the center of town.
